Features
Choose between telescoping locks and folding designs
“Adjustable” can describe different hardware. For a shopper, the useful question is not which mechanism sounds most advanced, but whether it reaches the settings you need, is easy for you to use correctly and packs in a way you can carry.
Telescoping lever locks
An external lever clamps overlapping shaft sections. It offers a visible opening and closing action; its tension still needs to be set correctly. A section that slips is not fixed by forcing the pole harder into the ground. Follow the model's instructions, check the clamp and stop using a pole with damage or an unreliable lock.Twist locks and folding joints
Twist-lock poles use a rotational joint inside or between sections. Folding poles connect shorter pieces along a cord or other joint and may include an upper adjustment section. Those descriptions cover families, not a promise that every design uses the same parts. Check the maker's instructions for deployment, length adjustment, maintenance and any warning against disassembly.Fixed-length choices
A fixed-length pole avoids a sliding lock but cannot adapt its working height in the same way. It may still fold for storage, so “fixed” does not necessarily mean a one-piece shaft. Check both its working length and packed form.Use the exact manual
Black Diamond's trekking-pole instructions explain how its FlickLock lever is opened, closed and tensioned. That guidance applies to those Black Diamond mechanisms; it should not be copied onto another maker's lock. The reviewed Trail model's dual FlickLocks and 100–140 cm range are documented in its manufacturer product page.Choose a mechanism the evidence actually documents
External-lever adjustment
External-lever adjustment appears on both telescoping and folding poles, so the lever alone does not tell you the pole’s pack length, working range, or supplied quantity.
A clamp or lever is the part that secures a chosen length; it is not necessarily the joint that folds the pole. Trek-Z listings, for example, describe metal flip-locks for length adjustment separately from a corded fold. MSR DynaLock Ascent uses a folding shaft with a separate length lever, while Explore and Trail telescope; Grivel Trail Three folds with a clamp shown in its instructions, whereas Explorer Vario 3 has a telescoping shaft and page-named lock lever. Follow the exact maker’s setup guidance rather than transferring a procedure or strength claim from another brand.
The finder below holds this lock choice and leaves the other choices open. It returns the full matching review-library set, not a census of every pole sold. Before choosing, compare the exact size plan, folding or telescoping layout, collapsed dimension, grip and package count. A single walking staff, a matched pair, a reference-only catalog entry and a pole bundle with add-on tips are not interchangeable buying packages.
See how lock style and shaft layout can combine when both matter; a lever requirement alone does not imply either telescoping or folding.
Clamp systems across telescoping and folding designs
- Cascade Mountain Tech Aluminum Folding Trekking Poles with Steel Cable fold by cable and use Quick Lock for working length; the listed 16.75-inch folded dimension is separate from conflicting lower-range wording.
- CMT Aluminum Quick Lock Cork and CMT Aluminum Quick Lock EVA are three-section 6061 telescoping designs with different grip materials and the same published 26–54-inch span.
- CMT Carbon Quick Lock Cork, Black, Grey, Light Grey, and White are separate color records, not evidence that every seller package or weight basis is identical; the exact pages retain their differences.
- CMT Carbon Quick Lock EVA keeps the same 26–54-inch family span with an EVA handle; its listed eight ounces are per pole, not a pair.
- CMT Mossy Oak Carbon Quick Lock poles are a cork-grip pair; the Mossy Oak single staff is one pole, not a matched pair.
- Expedition Outdoors Carbon Tek Quick Release is a three-section carbon model with a 25–53-inch stated range; collapsed length and exact shipped quantity are not established.
- MSR DynaLock Ascent has two folding size plans; Explore uses three telescoping sections and dual clamps; Trail is a separate two-section telescoping model. Their reaches, pack lengths and weight bases differ.
- Grivel Trail Three is a folding model with separate fixed size SKUs; Trail Vario folds with a 105–130 cm range; Explorer Vario 3 is a 110–140 cm telescope. The one-piece fixed Trail 1 is not in this lever set.
Komperdell: identify the exact size, joint and source edition
- Borea Carbon Pro and Calima Carbon are cork-grip telescoping models listed at 90–120 cm and 57 cm packed.
- Carbon EVO Zero, Carbon Pro Zero, and Carbon Ultra Zero are standard-length telescoping options listed at 105–140 cm and 67 cm packed; their grip wording and shaft descriptions differ by exact model.
- Carbon EVO Zero Comp, Carbon Pro Zero Comp, and Carbon Ultra Zero Comp are separate compact models listed at 90–120 cm and 57 cm packed, not smaller settings of the standard versions.
- FX L Carb Vario Summit and its Summit Comp pair FX Lite folding storage with a separate Powerlock lever; the standard and compact ranges differ. Approach and Approach Comp use the same separate-mechanism idea, but their grip material is not identified in the U.S. page.
- Peakhunter Zero Jr. is a shorter youth-oriented 90–125 cm model with a 74 cm listed pack length; lock preference does not establish child fit.
- Ridgehiker Pro Zero and Ridgehiker Pro Compact Zero are distinct catalog models with different reach and pack dimensions; neither catalog description alone confirms a U.S. retail package.
- Trailmaster Zero (105–140 cm, 64 cm packed) and Trailmaster Zero Comp (90–120 cm, 57 cm packed) are separate choices, both with listed EVA grips.
- Travel & Wading Staff FXP Vario folds for storage and uses a distinct length lever; it is assessed as one staff, not a pair. Trekmaster Zero is a separate 2027 catalog reference rather than a confirmed U.S. retail package.
- Walker Powerlock and Walker Powerlock Compact are individual walking staffs with short ranges; the Compact record retains a two-versus-three-section source conflict.
- Explorer Zero, Explorer Zero Compact, and Ridgehiker Zero are 2027 Trekbook references. The catalog supports the lock comparison, but does not establish the exact U.S. product version or what a seller ships.
Different packages and reach beyond a shared lever
- Mountainsmith Globetrotter, Trekker FX Lite, and Boomstick are individual staffs; their handle layouts, ranges and conflicting or unpublished storage figures differ from pair-sold models.
- Halite 7075 is a folding pair listed to 137.2 cm and 40.64 cm packed; the distinct Halite 7075 WSD retains a conflicting reach description and shorter listed fold.
- Tellurite 7075 OLS has a three-section cork/EVA grip plan and no distinct storage dimension in its page; those facts should not be borrowed for the Halite.
- REI Flash Carbon and Flash Carbon Compact are distinct pair plans with different ranges and packed lengths. Traverse has two size ranges; Trailmade has EVA; Tarn Kids is a youth-marketed rubber-grip pair. Compare their exact plans rather than treating the shared lever as a fit recommendation.
- REI Hiker Staff and Walker Staff are single staffs; a matching mechanism does not make either a pair.
- Trek-Z EVA Folding Poles and the separate six-tip bundle have different package descriptions. The bundle adds six replacement tips, while the short selector’s height label conflicts with the detailed page. Check the exact size and contents.
- Trek-Z Cork Folding Poles have a short-description button-lock conflict; the detailed specification names metal flip-locks for length adjustment. The Cork replacement-tip bundle also includes a pole listing but does not map its mentioned length plans to color SKUs.
- Trek-Z Collapsible Hiking Poles use a cork-texture main grip with an EVA extension and separate standard/long plans. Prima 3K Carbon is a folding-carbon alternative with two size plans and snow baskets listed. The 3K Carbon telescoping kit has a 63 cm listed collapse and conflicting accessory-count language.
U.S. seller configurations and catalog references
- Fizan Adventure Black has an aluminum lever and listed 70–140 cm reach; the seller page gives no collapsed length and does not identify a matching manufacturer article.
- Fizan RFP Touring separates its aluminum length lever from the folding joint; the seller lists 110–135 cm, while grip material and the corresponding maker version remain unidentified.
- Ultrax Carbon, Ultrax Aluminum, and Ultrax Trail all use separate lever-adjusted folding sections, but shaft, grip, folded length and seller identity vary; the exact Fizan product numbers for these seller selections are not confirmed.
Use the finder with the external-lever choice held to see every matching assessment in this library. Check the full review before purchase for the exact range, package and source limitations.
Twist-lock adjustment
Twist-lock describes a rotating internal length lock; it does not tell you a pole’s working range, folded length, grip or package.
Follow the instructions for the exact model when opening, locking and checking this mechanism. Fizan’s documents call its Flexy system an internal expander and describe turning it; that evidence supports a twist-style label for the exact seller configurations named below, but it does not establish their missing measurements, exact model version or lock durability. A separate lock choice should never be used to infer the model’s shaft design or shipped accessories.
Among the broader matching set, LEKI VOYAGER and SUPER MICRO illustrate how different the use case can be: one is listed at 110–145 cm and 65 cm packed, while the short single staff is 46–90 cm and 46 cm packed. Both are single staffs, not a pair; VOYAGER’s page also retains conflicting PAS grip labels. The same-condition finder includes every current matching assessment in this library, not every product on the market.
For lock-plus-layout combinations, see the comparison of mechanism and shaft layout, and see why reach and pack limits can change a twist-lock result.
Manufacturer-named twist locks
- Komperdell Highlander Zero is a cork-grip 105–140 cm aluminum telescope with a 66 cm listed pack length; exact package and snow-basket inclusion remain uncertain.
- Komperdell Trailhunter Zero reaches 105–140 cm and lists 65 cm packed, but its grip is described only as foam, without a supported material subtype.
- Komperdell Trailblazer Zero Kids is a two-section 80–105 cm junior pole; its source-listed 65 cm pack length does not determine an individual child’s fit.
- Cascade Mountain Tech Aluminum Twist Lock EVA lists a three-section 26–54-inch range and a maker-described shock feature; its weight is per pole, and no independent shock test is claimed.
- Expedition Outdoors Carbon Tek Twist Lock combines a three-section carbon shaft, cork main grip, EVA down grip and a 25–53-inch stated range; collapsed length and exact shipped quantity are not established.
- Gossamer Gear LT5 is a matched pair guided at 105–130 cm for hiking and listed at 60 cm fully collapsed; lower tarp positions are not ordinary trekking settings.
- Mountainsmith Andesite NEO is a full-carbon pair with a double-cam twist lock, 66–134.5 cm range and its own snow/mini-basket interface.
- Mountainsmith Rhyolite 6061 is a shock-equipped 6061-aluminum pair listed at 68.6–139.7 cm; its page conflicts on whether the grip is cork or EVA.
- Mountainsmith Pinnacle uses the same broad lock family on a single staff with a TPR grip, not a matched pair; its shock/lockout description is not an independent test.
Exact Fizan seller selections with an internal Flexy system
- Fizan Compact 3 EVA Foam and Compact 3 EVA Cork are separate grip selections listed to 132 cm; their exact lower working settings and collapsed lengths are not established for these seller records.
- Fizan Compact 4 EVA Foam and Compact 4 EVA Cork are four-section seller selections listed to 130 cm. One selector’s color and SKU wording conflict, and article or closed-length claims must be checked against the exact assessment.
- Compact Pro Yellow is listed at 59–132 cm with 35 mm and 50 mm hiking baskets; these do not establish supplied snow baskets, and an exact pack length is not given.
- Tierra is listed at 63–140 cm with a seller-labeled Rubber Cork grip; the lower setting is a working length, not a packed dimension.
- Lhotse Green is a separate three-section seller selector listed at 65–140 cm; a similar Blue maker page does not establish this Green selector’s closed length.
- Lite Tech is grouped by Fizan under Nordic walking, while the exact U.S. seller page describes trail use. Its 60–132 cm plan supports only that limited cross-use assessment.
- Trek Pro is listed at 65 cm closed and 140 cm maximum with an internal Flexy system; it is separate from the external-lever Trek Pro-L and has no confirmed seller-to-article match.
The same-condition finder link for twist lock alone preserves every match in the reviewed library. Add reach, pack length, grip, snow-basket or shaft-layout requirements only when they are essential for your use; an unknown mechanism is not a confirmed twist lock.
Separate a folding shaft from its working-length adjustment
What this choice means: Telescoping describes an in-use adjustable layout: 117 reviewed configurations match this option, but published working range and packed length must be checked separately on each exact model. Moving the shaft sections changes working reach; it does not tell you whether the pole also folds for carrying, how short it stows, or whether its range suits your measured setting. The Gossamer Gear LT5 product page distinguishes its 105–130 cm hiking range from lower tarp-setup positions. Komperdell’s 2027 Trekbook lists the Ridgehiker Zero reference at 105–135 cm working and 63 cm packed, but that catalogue entry does not establish a U.S. retail package. Compare the LT5 review and Ridgehiker Zero reference assessment, then see all 117 assessments matching this choice.
For each exact model and size, compare the published low and high working settings with a measurement taken for your own use. If you also set a pack-length ceiling, compare that separate source-listed collapsed dimension; the lowest working setting is not a substitute. A pole-length figure cannot establish clearance through your pack opening. Confirm package quantity, variant, and current instructions in the exact review and seller offer.
Shorter working ranges and listed stowage lengths
Several Komperdell variants cluster around a 90–120 cm range and 57 cm listed packed length, but similar names do not make their grip or construction identical: Borea Carbon Pro and Calima Carbon list cork grips; Carbon EVO Zero Comp, Carbon Pro Zero Comp, Carbon Ultra Zero Comp, Explorer Zero Compact (2027 catalogue reference), Ridgehiker Pro Compact Zero, and Trailmaster Zero Comp have their own exact model records. The Compact tag alone does not mean every product has the same design or retail identity.
- Komperdell Walker Powerlock Compact is a single walking staff with a 75–100 cm range and 46 cm listed packed length.
- Komperdell Peakhunter Zero Jr. is a distinct two-section plan listed at 90–125 cm and 74 cm packed.
- Komperdell Trailblazer Zero Kids has a twist-lock, 80–105 cm plan and 65 cm listed packed length; a catalog range is not a child-fitting recommendation.
- REI Co-op Flash Carbon Compact is a pair listed at 90–120 cm and 58 cm collapsed.
- REI Co-op Tarn Kids is a pair listed at 90–110 cm and 65 cm collapsed.
- Komperdell Walker Powerlock is a single staff listed at 85–100 cm; its packed length conflicts between page copy and table/catalog evidence, so check the review rather than treating one figure as settled.
- REI Co-op Walker Staff is a separate single-staff plan listed at 50.8–100 cm and 50.8 cm collapsed.
Longer reach and model-specific range steps
For a longer upper working setting, the full-length Komperdell plans show why the exact model and collapsed size matter. Carbon EVO Zero, Carbon Pro Zero, and Carbon Ultra Zero each list 105–140 cm and 67 cm packed; the 2027 catalogue-only Explorer Zero lists 105–140 cm and 65 cm, without an established U.S. retail bridge. The Highlander Zero is a twist-lock alternative listed at 105–140 cm and 66 cm; Ridgehiker Pro Zero is listed at 105–140 cm and 65 cm; Trailhunter Zero uses a twist lock and lists 105–140 cm / 65 cm; Trailmaster Zero lists 105–140 cm / 64 cm; and Trekmaster Zero lists 105–135 cm / 63 cm. Trekmaster Zero is not Trailmaster Zero.
The Cascade Mountain Tech telescoping listings make material and lock choices visible without changing their stated reach: Aluminum Quick Lock with cork or EVA, Aluminum Twist Lock EVA, Carbon Quick Lock EVA, and Carbon Quick Lock Cork in Black, Grey, Light Grey, and White. These pages list roughly 66–137 cm working length and 66 cm collapsed. The separate Mossy Oak Contour pair configuration lists the same maximum and collapsed length, while the Mossy Oak single staff has a different 72.4–152.4 cm range and 72.4 cm collapsed length.
Two Expedition Outdoors Carbon Tek assessments list the same 63.5–135 cm working span but not a collapsed dimension: the Quick Release and Twist Lock versions use different adjustment mechanisms. The LT5’s documented hiking span and separate tarp settings are described above; do not use a tarp position as a trekking-range endpoint.
Staff formats, size plans, and source limitations
Some higher-reaching listings are single staffs rather than matched pairs. Mountainsmith’s Boomstick is a single staff listed at 68.5–152.5 cm and 68.5 cm collapsed; the Trekker FX Lite is a single carbon-upper/aluminum-lower pole listed to 149.9 cm. The Pinnacle is a shock-equipped single pole listed to 134.6 cm; the separate Rhyolite is a shock-equipped pair listed to 139.7 cm. Tellurite is a cork/EVA-grip pair listed to 137.2 cm, and Andesite NEO is a separate pair listed to 134.5 cm. Their seller pages do not establish every collapsed dimension, so those working lengths do not answer a tight pack-length requirement.
Among other U.S. records, REI Co-op Flash Carbon is listed at 105–140 cm / 64 cm collapsed, while Trailmade reaches 140 cm and is listed at 63.7 cm collapsed. Traverse has two distinct size plans: 95–120 cm / 59.7 cm and 105–140 cm / 63.5 cm. Its Hiker Staff is a separate single-staff arrangement listed to 139.7 cm / 66 cm. MSR’s DynaLock Explore lists a 140 cm maximum and 62.2 cm collapsed, but its lower endpoint conflicts between page sections; DynaLock Trail also lists a 140 cm maximum, with 80 cm collapsed and an unresolved 80/100 cm lower endpoint. The Grivel Explorer Vario 3 has a documented 110–140 cm span and 66 cm collapsed. Do not join the shorter dimension of one size plan to another plan’s longer reach.
The Trekology Trek-Z 3K Carbon telescoping kit is listed at 100–135 cm and 63 cm collapsed. Its listing title and accessory list disagree about the kit-piece count, and pole quantity is not confirmed; verify the exact package instead of relying on the kit name.
Fizan seller variants and catalogue-only references
Fizan’s seller-selected Compact choices differ in section count, grip label, and stated maximum: the Compact 3 EVA Foam and Compact 3 EVA Cork selectors list three sections and a 132 cm maximum; the Compact 3 Foam lower endpoint conflicts in the seller copy. The Compact 4 EVA Cork and Compact 4 EVA Foam are separate four-section seller configurations listed to 130 cm. Exact collapsed lengths and a seller-to-maker article crosswalk are not established for these options. The PCT Edition links Compact 3 EVA Cork, Compact 3 EVA Foam, Compact 4 EVA Cork, and Compact 4 EVA Foam, plus the CDT Edition Compact 3 EVA Cork and Compact 4 EVA Cork. Those distinct selectors list 132 cm maxima for Compact 3 and 125 cm maxima for Compact 4, but do not establish the exact lower settings, collapsed dimensions, or maker-article bridge.
The separately reviewed U.S. seller selectors list Compact Pro Yellow at 59–132 cm, Adventure Black at 70–140 cm, and Tierra at 63–140 cm; their exact collapsed dimensions remain unknown. Lhotse Green is listed at 65–140 cm, but no exact closed length or maker-article crosswalk is confirmed. The Lite Tech listing gives 60–132 cm; Fizan classifies this model in Nordic Walking while the U.S. seller page also describes trail trekking. The Trek Pro seller listing reaches 140 cm and gives a 65 cm closed dimension, but its 65 cm lower endpoint is not independently confirmed as a working setting.
When a minimum maximum-setting requirement also matters, treat it as a second independent condition. For example, 35 reviewed configurations match telescoping plus a listed maximum of at least 140 cm; the finder preserves both choices. A reach match does not establish package quantity, current stock, personal fit, or clearance in your pack.
With twist lock, EVA grip, telescoping adjustment and a 130 cm minimum maximum-setting requirement, 11 reviewed configurations match, including Fizan Trek Pro at its 140 cm maximum. Trek Pro, Lhotse Green, Compact Pro Yellow, Compact 3 EVA Foam and Compact 4 EVA Foam illustrate the 130 cm boundary; the seller-listed Compact maxima of 132 and 130 cm do not establish exact manufacturer-article bridges or collapsed lengths. Find the same four choices at 130 cm.
With twist lock, EVA grip, telescoping adjustment and a 135 cm minimum maximum-setting requirement, 6 reviewed configurations match, including Trek Pro at its 140 cm endpoint. CMT Aluminum Twist Lock EVA, Lhotse Green and Trek Pro remain examples on the matched side; seller-listed Compact Pro Yellow at 132 cm and Compact 4 EVA Foam at 130 cm fall below this stricter threshold. Find the same four choices at 135 cm.
With earlier references included, twist lock, EVA grip, telescoping adjustment and a 130 cm minimum maximum-setting requirement, 13 reviewed configurations match, including current-reference Fizan Trek Pro. The 2025 Compact 3 Blue / EVA Foam and Compact 4 Red / EVA Foam seller selectors also clear this threshold; the distinct Compact 4 Black / EVA Cork selector does not meet the EVA choice. These seller records do not establish exact maker-article bridges or current stock. Lhotse Green, Compact Pro Yellow and Trek Pro remain separately assessed configurations. Find the same earlier-inclusive conditions at 130 cm.
With earlier references included, twist lock, EVA grip, telescoping adjustment and a 135 cm minimum maximum-setting requirement, 6 reviewed configurations match, including current-reference Fizan Trek Pro. The earlier Compact 3 Blue (132 cm) and Compact 4 Red (130 cm) seller limits fall below the threshold; CMT Aluminum Twist Lock EVA, Lhotse Green and Trek Pro are documented matches. Find the same earlier-inclusive conditions at 135 cm.
In the current-reference twist-lock, EVA and telescoping intersection with a 140 cm requirement, two reviewed configurations match: Fizan Trek Pro and Lhotse Green. The exact Kaviso Lhotse Green selector lists a 65–140 cm working span but no closed length or confirmed maker-article bridge; the Trek Pro assessment separately describes the seller listing's 65 cm closed dimension. Find the same current-reference four-feature set at 140 cm.
At 145 cm under the same current-reference, twist-lock, EVA and telescoping conditions, the reviewed library has no match because the Lhotse Green maximum is 140 cm. Within this assessed intersection, no reviewed model reaches the 145 cm minimum maximum-setting requirement; Lhotse Green's exact Kaviso page lists a 140 cm maximum. This does not claim that no other pole on the market reaches 145 cm. Trek Pro's listed maximum is also 140 cm. Check the Lhotse Green reach evidence and test the same choices at 145 cm.
With the same 140 cm reach and feature choices plus a 65 cm collapsed-length ceiling, one reviewed configuration matches: Fizan Trek Pro; Lhotse Green remains excluded because its exact closed length is unknown. The missing Green closed-length value cannot pass a hard pack cap, and the blue manufacturer page is not exact evidence for that selector. Read the Trek Pro and Lhotse Green assessments, or find the same choices with a 65 cm pack cap.
Folding sections for pack-down
47 reviewed assessments use folding sections. This describes how a pole packs down, not whether its working height adjusts, which lock it uses, or how many items a seller supplies. Compare the exact size plan and collapsed pole length separately. A published pole dimension is not a guarantee that the longest piece clears a pack opening.
Fixed working length can still fold
Some folding designs offer fixed sizes rather than an in-use range. The current neonorange-white-black SKYSOLO FX.ONE CARBON is a fixed-size pair, with five choices from 110 to 130 cm; its 34–39 cm pack figure is a family range rather than a value assigned to every size. The REI Co-op Swiftland TT Carbon offers fixed 105, 115 and 125 cm sizes, listed at 33.4, 36.8 and 40.1 cm folded. The Helinox Passport TL115 is fixed at 115 cm and lists 35 cm collapsed; its button joins or releases the sections for storage, not trail-height adjustment. The Komperdell Walking Staff FXP Carbon is a single staff in 85, 95 and 105 cm choices; the 36 cm packed length and 242 g figure apply only to the 95 cm size. The maker's walking-aid wording is not a medical suitability or support-load rating.
Adjustable poles with folding sections
The folding joint and length adjustment can be separate systems. The CMT Aluminum Folding pole with Steel Cable combines a cable-folding shaft with Quick Lock length adjustment; its listed 16.75 in folded dimension is separate from lower-range wording that conflicts between 44 and 45 in. Gossamer Gear's FT3 lists a 115–130 cm working range and 38 cm folded length, but its page does not settle the separate lock type or package quantity. Komperdell's four FX L Carb Vario Summit, Summit Comp, Approach and Approach Comp choices use folding sections with separate Powerlock adjustment. Their Compact versions stop at 125 cm while standard versions reach 135 cm; the Summit entries list cork grips, while the Approach entries do not identify a grip material. The distinct FX Lite TI Vario and Comp also adjust through Powerlock 3.0, with 115–135 and 105–125 cm ranges; source disagreement means their conservative 41 and 40 cm pack values should be checked against the exact compartment. The Travel & Wading Staff FXP Vario is a single adjustable staff, not a pair, with a listed 115–135 cm range and 45 cm packed length.
LEKI's folding families keep size and edition details separate. The standard CROSS TRAIL FX SUPERLITE and separate Limited Edition are described for fast hiking and trail running, with 100–120 or 110–130 cm size plans and 42 cm listed pack length; their edition-specific weights and strap bands differ. Makalu Cork FX TA lists 100–120 and 110–130 cm choices, a 41 cm pack length and two included basket sets. Makalu FX Carbon and separate FX Carbon AS have compact and standard plans; the AS model adds LEKI's Dynamic Suspension System and lists 41 cm compact / 40 cm standard, while the non-AS page lists 41 cm for both. Makalu Pro FX Carbon is a separate standard 110–130 cm option. The adjustable SKYSOLO FX CARBON has compact 100–120 and standard 120–140 cm plans; the Skytera FX Carbon SL Compact lists 100–120 cm and a 39 cm pack length. Do not transfer the fixed FX.ONE specifications to these adjustable models.
Other listed folding systems have different limits. The Mountainsmith Globetrotter is a single cable-folding staff; its 15- versus 16-inch storage statements conflict. The pair-sold Halite 7075 lists a 16-inch fold and 121.9–137.2 cm range, while the Halite WSD lists a 14-inch fold but has conflicting working-range text. MSR's DynaLock Ascent uses a folding shaft and separate length lever: Small is 100–120 cm / 36.2 cm collapsed, and Large is 120–140 cm / 44.5 cm. Those are distinct size plans, not one combined reach-and-pack range.
Trek-Z pages distinguish the folding cord from the external flip-lock used for length. Collapsible Hiking Poles list standard and long plans at 100–120 and 115–135 cm; the Cork listing gives 110–130 cm. The EVA folding pair lists 100–120 and 115–135 cm plans. The EVA six-tip bundle has a short-plan endpoint mismatch between description and selector, and the Cork replacement-tip bundle does not map its stated sizes to selectable SKUs; treat both as exact listing assessments, not resolved size variants. Prima 3K keeps its 100–120 and 115–135 cm plans distinct and its listing names snow baskets.
Grivel and Fizan need separate source checks. Grivel Trail Three has 112, 122 and 130 cm size SKUs with manual-listed folds of 38, 41 and 44 cm. The separate Trail Vario lists a 105–130 cm range, but its current U.S. SKU is not mapped to the manual's size-specific folded lengths. Kaviso's RFP Touring selector lists a four-section 110–135 cm pole with a 39 cm closed dimension, without an established maker-article crosswalk. Its separate Ultrax Carbon and Ultrax Aluminum selectors list 37 cm folded lengths; Ultrax Trail lists 39 cm. Those seller-specific figures do not establish shared manufacturer identifiers or pack-opening clearance.
Folding plus a 40 cm collapsed-pole ceiling: 30 reviewed configurations match both conditions. The three Ultrax selectors are included at their respective 37 or 39 cm listed folds; for Grivel Trail Three, the 112 cm size is listed at 38 cm, while the 122 and 130 cm sizes are 41 and 44 cm and do not meet this cap. These measurements describe the pole, not a pack opening. Find the same folding choice with a 40 cm limit, and see the pole-length guide for other measured boundaries.
The option-only finder keeps exactly adjustment_style=folding selected and leaves lock, grip, baskets, length and lifecycle choices open: see all 47 documented folding-section matches. Confirm the size and package of the exact model before purchase; a finder match does not certify personal fit, seller stock or any unrecorded capability.
Twelve reviewed assessments have fixed working lengths. A fixed-length choice can still fold or break down for transport, but it does not change its working height on the trail. Treat a family of sizes as separate choices, not as a continuous adjustment range; choose the exact size against your fit and carry needs.
The LEKI Skytera FX.One SL is offered in fixed sizes from 105 to 130 cm; its listed 36 cm collapsed length applies only to the 120 cm size. The current LEKI SKYSOLO FX.ONE CARBON has five fixed sizes from 110 to 130 cm, while its 34–39 cm pack figure is a family range not mapped to each size. The Black Diamond Pursuit Carbon Z likewise offers separate 110, 115, 120, 125 and 130 cm sizes; its Z-fold is for storage, not in-use length adjustment.
Other fixed choices make different storage and package tradeoffs. Komperdell's Walking Staff FXP Carbon is a single folding staff in 85, 95 and 105 cm choices; the listed 36 cm packed length and 242 g weight apply to the 95 cm size only. Its walking-aid wording does not establish medical suitability or a support-load rating. REI's Swiftland TT Carbon Folding pair comes in 105, 115 and 125 cm sizes, with listed folded lengths of 33.4, 36.8 and 40.1 cm respectively. The Helinox Passport TL115 stays at 115 cm and lists a 35 cm packed length; its button deploys the folding sections rather than adjusting working height. Grivel's Trail 1 is a one-piece model offered in separate 112, 122 and 130 cm sizes, with no folded length or package quantity established by the reviewed page.
Find the complete documented fixed-length set; inclusion does not establish personal fit, seller stock or the contents of a particular offer. Check the exact size and package before buying.
Fixed length plus a 130 cm maximum-setting requirement: Nine reviewed assessments meet both conditions. Grivel Trail 1 adds only its 130 cm SKU; its separate 112 cm and 122 cm sizes do not meet the 130 cm floor. This is a size choice, not an adjustable range. Review the exact model and size SKUs and find products meeting both conditions.
Check the lock and shaft layout together
External lever with folding sections
34 reviewed configurations combine an external lever with folding sections. The lever changes working length; a separate folding joint shortens the pole for carrying. The three Kaviso Ultrax Carbon, Ultrax Aluminum and Ultrax Trail selectors each list a 135 cm maximum, with 37 cm folded figures for Carbon and Aluminum and 39 cm for Trail. These seller-specific dimensions do not establish pack-opening clearance or package quantity. Find the same lever-and-folding conditions.
Kaviso's RFP Touring listing describes a separate one-touch fold joint and lever for working-length adjustment. Its seller-listed 110–135 cm range and 39 cm closed-pole dimension are different measurements; neither establishes personal fit or pack-opening clearance. Find the same lever-and-folding conditions.
Trekology's Cork, EVA, six-tip bundle, Prima, Collapsible and cork replacement-tip bundle pages describe the external lever as a length control, separate from the corded fold. Bundled accessories and pole quantity should be confirmed on the exact listing. Find the same lever-and-fold conditions.
The MSR DynaLock Ascent combines a folding shaft with a separate external DynaLock lever. Its Small 100–120 cm and Large 120–140 cm ranges are separate size plans, not one continuous interval. Find the same external-lever/folding set.
The pair-sold Mountainsmith Halite WSD lists a 35.56 cm fold but has a conflicted reach range; standard Halite 7075 lists 40.64 cm storage and a 121.9–137.2 cm working range. The single Globetrotter folds into cable-joined sections, but its 15- and 16-inch packed claims conflict. Compare exact size and carrying dimensions when both are hard requirements. Find the same external-lever/folding set.
The Cascade Mountain Tech Aluminum Folding with Steel Cable uses Quick Lock to set working length while its cable-connected shaft folds for storage. Its lower working endpoint is inconsistent across the exact listing, though the 54-inch maximum is consistent; a folding pole is not necessarily fixed-length. Find the same two-condition set.
The FX L Carb Vario Summit Comp, Summit, Approach and Approach Comp fold for storage while Powerlock 3.0 adjusts working length. The compact variants top out at 125 cm; standard Summit and Approach reach 135 cm. Their 40/41 cm packed listings are model-specific, so compare the exact pole with the measured opening. Find the same lever-and-folding set.
The Komperdell Travel & Wading Staff FXP Vario folds at its FXP joint while a separate Powerlock 3.0 system changes its 115–135 cm working length; its catalog-linked packed figure is 45 cm. Find the same lever-and-folding set.
Twelve reviewed models combine folding sections and an external lever, including both CROSS TRAIL FX SUPERLITE editions and the separate FX Lite TI Vario and TI Vario Comp. For Komperdell, Powerlock 3.0 adjusts working length; the standard article reaches 135 cm and uses a conservative 41 cm pack value, while Comp tops out at 125 cm and uses 40 cm. The standard and Comp page/catalogue lengths conflict, so check the real compartment. The Cross Trail pairs each list 42 cm and separate 100–120/110–130 cm plans; only their standard plan reaches 130 cm. Other matches are Makalu Pro FX Carbon, Makalu FX Carbon, Makalu FX Carbon AS, Makalu Cork FX TA and SKYSOLO FX CARBON, alongside Black Diamond FLZ models. Snowflake modules do not prove included snow baskets, and the LEKI lever is not Black Diamond FlickLock. Filter for both an external lever and folding sections.
The separate LIMITED EDITION result has the same 42 cm packed length but an edition-specific weight table and a page-listed folding bag; do not transfer those details to the standard-color page.
Grivel Trail Three has separate 112, 122 and 130 cm size SKUs with manual-listed folded lengths of 38, 41 and 44 cm. The distinct Trail Vario lists a 105–130 cm span, but its current U.S. SKU is not bridged to the manual's size-specific fold values. Use both same conditions in the finder.
External lever with telescoping sections
The 2027 Trekbook Ridgehiker Zero is one documented match for external-lever adjustment combined with a telescoping layout; its maximum setting is 135 cm and its exact U.S. retail bridge remains unresolved. The full reviewed intersection contains 86 configurations, but this does not establish a pair, seller package or personal fit. Read the specific assessment, or find the same two-condition set.
Kaviso's Fizan Adventure Black selector lists three sections and a 70–140 cm working range; that range does not supply its unknown closed length or link the seller barcode to a maker article. Find the same lever-and-telescoping set.
Trekology's Trek-Z 3K Carbon ten-piece kit lists a 100–135 cm working span and 63 cm collapsed pole. The title and accessory list disagree about the kit-piece count, so check the exact package rather than treating its name as a settled quantity. Find the same two-condition set.
MSR's DynaLock Explore and DynaLock Trail use telescoping shafts; Explore lists 62.2 cm collapsed and Trail 80 cm. Their lower working-length claims conflict in the source, and Ascent is instead a folding-shaft plan. Find the same two-condition set.
REI Co-op's Trailmade, Traverse, Flash Carbon, shorter Flash Carbon Compact, and Tarn Kids pairs are distinct from the single Walker and Hiker staffs. Their grip areas, size plans and one-versus-two-pole formats are not interchangeable. Find the same two-condition set.
The pair-sold Mountainsmith Tellurite reaches 137.2 cm without a separate storage dimension; the single Trekker FX Lite reaches 149.9 cm, also without a distinct stored length. The single Boomstick reaches 152.5 cm and lists 68.5 cm compressed. Pair-versus-staff and unknown storage values remain separate buying checks. Find the same external-lever/telescoping set.
The exact carbon-and-cork Expedition Outdoors Carbon Tek Quick Release (CFTQR) page describes quick-release adjustment; its close-up shows the hinged external clamp. That visual evidence supports the lock classification but does not supply a setup procedure or collapsed measurement. Find the same two-condition set.
The White, Grey and Light Grey Cascade Mountain Tech carbon pairs each document an external lever and telescoping sections. Their finish-specific evidence remains separate; the Light Grey model's integrated Quick Lock and extended EVA grip do not make its SKU interchangeable with the others. Find the same conditions.
The Mossy Oak Contour pair reaches 54 in and packs to 26 in collapsed; the different single monopod reaches 60 in and collapses to 28.5 in. Neither a long reach nor the seller's quantity description turns a single pole into a matched pair. Find the same conditions.
The Aluminum Cork, Aluminum EVA, Carbon EVA and Black Carbon Cork Cascade Mountain Tech models share documented external levers and telescoping construction, while their shaft material and grip evidence differ. Find the same conditions.
The exact U.S. Carbon EVO Zero Comp K1752390-10-Tele lists 90–120 cm/57 cm packed; the distinct standard Carbon EVO Zero K1752389-10-Tele lists 105–140 cm/67 cm packed. Both name Powerlock 3.0 and three-section telescoping construction. Generic foam-grip wording does not establish EVA or cork, and basket-system language does not confirm a seller's package. Find the same conditions.
The Carbon Pro Zero Comp (90–120 cm/57 cm), Carbon Pro Zero (105–140 cm/67 cm) and cork-grip Borea Carbon Pro (90–120 cm/57 cm) all list Powerlock 3.0; their size ranges and grip descriptions are model-specific, and a basket system does not prove package contents. Find the same conditions.
Calima Carbon and Carbon Ultra Zero Comp each list 90–120 cm and 57 cm packed; standard Carbon Ultra Zero lists 105–140 cm and 67 cm. The exact pages describe Powerlock 3.0 and telescoping adjustment, but do not establish included basket contents. Find the same conditions.
The 2027 Trekbook Ridgehiker Pro Compact Zero (90–120 cm), Ridgehiker Pro Zero (105–140 cm) and Trekmaster Zero (105–135 cm) name Powerlock Hybrid. Their exact U.S. retail routes and shipped quantities are not established by those catalog entries. Find the same conditions.
Peakhunter Zero Jr. is listed at 90–125 cm/74 cm packed. The distinct catalog articles Explorer Zero 174 23 70-10 and Explorer Zero Compact 174 23 71-10 list 105–140/65 cm and 90–120/57 cm plans. Their retail bridges and packages remain unverified; match the article number, not a similar name. Find the same conditions.
The single-staff Walker Powerlock Compact lists 75–100 cm and 46 cm packed, with a page/catalog section-count conflict. Walker Powerlock lists 85–100 cm and 61 cm in the table/catalog but 62 cm in page copy. Both name Powerlock 3.0 and a cork Walker Comfort grip; exact shipped quantity is unconfirmed. Find the same conditions.
The Trailmaster Zero and distinct Trailmaster Zero Comp document Powerlock 3.0 and telescoping aluminum sections. Their 105–140 cm/64 cm and 90–120 cm/57 cm plans differ; neither exact listing establishes snow-basket package inclusion. Find the same conditions.
A lever lock does not mean the pole folds: Ridgehiker Zero, Shockmaster Cork PL Compact and Camera Staff PL are telescoping choices with different ranges and listed packed dimensions: 105–140/64 cm, 90–120/63 cm and 115–150/73 cm. The Camera Staff's mount is not a universal camera-compatibility claim; its U.S. page showed no B2C availability in the dated review. Find the same conditions.
The LEKI WANDERFREUND HIGH FIVES, WANDERFREUND MAKALU and LEGEND BLACK CARBON are single staffs, not matched pairs. Check whether a single pole is the format you need before comparing its reach or lock. Find the complete lever-and-telescoping set.
LEKI's other external-lever telescoping models differ by exact range, size plan and evidence. MAKALU lists 110–145 cm/71 cm packed; MAKALU CORK LITE and KHUMBU LITE each have compact 90–125 cm and standard 100–135 cm plans with 64/67 cm pack sizes; LEGACY LITE PRO lists 100–135 cm/67 cm. LEGACY lists 110–145/70 cm; LEGACY LITE, SPIRIT LITE and SPIRIT LITE COMPACT cover separate size plans. JOURNEY LITE lists 100–135/66 cm, while youth LEGACY JUNIOR reaches 110 cm/67 cm packed. The Journey grip material is unclassified and the Junior's section/basket statements conflict; do not transfer a cork-mix label from a nearby model. Makalu Lite AS lists compact 90–125 and standard 100–135 cm plans, but the compact copy conflicts. Compare with SKYSOLO (110–145/70 cm), Skytera Lite (100–135/67 cm or compact 90–125/64 cm) and cork-grip Khumbu Lite AS (100–135/68 cm). Filter for the same lever-and-telescoping combination.
Grivel Explorer Vario 3 has a 110–140 cm plan distinct from the brand's folding Trail Vario and fixed-size Trail 1. Preserve both conditions in the finder.
Twist lock, usable reach and pack ceiling
At a 90 cm required maximum setting, a 50 cm packing ceiling and twist lock plus telescoping requirements return only LEKI SUPER MICRO: its listed 46–90 cm plan reaches 90 cm and packs to 46 cm. It is sold as one staff, and its Super Lock mechanism is distinct from the 110–145 cm, 65 cm-packed VOYAGER. Read the Super Micro assessment and find the same 90 cm, 50 cm, twist-lock/telescoping combination.
Raising only the required maximum setting to 95 cm leaves no reviewed match: SUPER MICRO tops out at 90 cm, while VOYAGER's documented maximum is ample but its 65 cm packed length exceeds this 50 cm cap. A zero result describes the reviewed evidence, not the whole market. Check the same conditions at 95 cm.

No — current models only
Current only returns 167 reviewed assessments. “Current-reference” describes a model’s source/date classification in this library; it does not confirm live stock, an exact seller offer, condition, package contents or personal fit.
The 2027 article 174 23 74-10 remains in the current-reference candidate set when earlier products are excluded; that catalog classification does not establish a matching seller offer or stock.
The six assessments classified as earlier stay outside this result. Check the exact model, size and seller package before buying. Find all 167 current-reference assessments with earlier models excluded.

Fizan reviews: Compact Pro Yellow; Adventure Black; Tierra Rubber Cork; Lhotse Green; RFP Touring; Ultrax Carbon; Ultrax Aluminum; Ultrax Trail; Lite Tech; Trek Pro.
Fizan Lite Tech is a Nordic/speed-walking reference with trekking use limited to the exact seller claim and described conditions; it is not grouped as a general-purpose trekking pair. The Fizan Trek Pro’s three color selectors remain one functional assessment in this answer.
Read the RFP Touring review for the seller-specific model and operating-plan caveats.
The Ultrax Carbon, Ultrax Aluminum and Ultrax Trail are separate selector assessments, not interchangeable editions.
The Tierra and Lhotse Green seller selector records keep their individual names and unresolved maker-article bridges.
The Adventure Black is a separate seller selector; its source identity is not transferred to adjacent Fizan models.
The Compact Pro Yellow remains distinct from other Compact seller selectors.
The Compact 3 EVA Cork and the two Compact 4 grip options have separate assessments; their listing selectors and unknown fields are not blended.
The PCT and CDT selector assessments are separate seller editions; they do not establish Fizan manufacturer article numbers.
The Compact 3 EVA Foam review describes its exact version rather than a general claim about every Compact 3.

Yes — include earlier models
The earlier-inclusive finder returns 173 reviewed assessments: all 167 current-reference assessments plus six assessments classified as earlier in this library. The earlier-inclusive set also contains this 2027 Trekbook entry as a current catalog reference, not as an earlier model or an availability claim. Read the Ridgehiker Zero article 174 23 74-10 assessment for its catalog-only status.
The six additions are specific editions, not a generic permission to transfer features between generations:
- Black Diamond Pursuit FLZ (2023 aluminum) is distinct from the current carbon FLZ and the adjustable telescoping Pursuit. Its S/M minimum setting and some color/size SKU mappings remain unresolved, so verify the exact grip size and physical label.
- LEKI MAKALU FX CARBON AS (Past Season) is the separate older SKU 65220631, not the current page’s compact 65620632C or standard 65620631S selector. The earlier page also conflicts on the number of folding sections; that source conflict is retained in the review.
- LEKI SKYSOLO FX.ONE CARBON (Past Season) is the older fixed-length 65520731 family, with size options from 110 to 135 cm; the 37 cm pack-size figure belongs to its 120 cm size only. It is separate from the current neonorange/white/black selector family.
- Fizan Compact 3 (2025), Blue / EVA Foam is a three-section 59–132 cm seller selector; its exact collapsed length and maker article crosswalk were not established.
- Fizan Compact 4 (2025), Red / EVA Foam and Compact 4 (2025), Black / EVA Cork are separate four-section 51–130 cm seller selectors with different grip descriptions; neither has an established exact collapsed length or manufacturer-article crosswalk.
The exact U.S. seller capture for the three 2025 Fizan selectors showed them sold out on November 2, 2026. That dated observation is not a live stock check, an official Fizan past-season statement or proof that no later offer exists. For any earlier reference, confirm the edition, size, used/new condition and actual seller package; the filter does not certify availability or compatibility. Fizan reviews: Compact Pro Yellow; Adventure Black; Tierra Rubber Cork; Lhotse Green; RFP Touring; Ultrax Carbon; Ultrax Aluminum; Ultrax Trail; Lite Tech; Trek Pro.
Lite Tech is assessed from the exact seller configuration; its Nordic/speed-walking classification and limited trail-use statement remain model-specific.
The RFP Touring review retains the seller-specific configuration and unresolved maker-article bridge.
The Ultrax Carbon, Ultrax Aluminum and Ultrax Trail remain separate selector assessments.
The Tierra and Lhotse Green records retain their own seller identities.
The Adventure Black assessment remains distinct from the Compact listings.
The Compact Pro Yellow retains its own selector and source limits.
The three 2025 Compact selectors are linked above; their unlisted collapsed dimensions are not filled by inference.
The current-reference Compact 3 EVA Cork and Compact 4 listings stay separate from the 2025 Compact sellers.
The PCT and CDT editions have their own seller identities; their shared maker branding is not an exact SKU crosswalk.
The Compact 3 EVA Foam assessment covers the exact current-reference seller record, not all versions.
The 2027 article 174 23 74-10 is a current catalog reference in the earlier-inclusive set, not one of the six earlier assessments.
These selected links complement, but do not replace, the full 173-assessment finder result.
