Fizan Compact 4 Trekking Poles — Light Blue / EVA Foam review

The exact U.S. retailer selector identifies a four-section telescoping Compact 4 with an EVA Foam handle and a seller-listed 130 cm maximum. The exact manufacturer article bridge and collapsed length are unresolved.

A useful fit for

A source-supported candidate for a hiker seeking a four-section telescoping pole, an explicitly EVA Foam-labelled grip and a retailer-listed maximum of 130 cm. Kaviso's exact option is identified, but the manufacturer article crosswalk and numeric collapsed length are not.

The main tradeoff

Compared with the seller's Compact 3, the Compact 4 is listed with one more section, a 130 cm rather than 132 cm maximum and 169 g rather than 158 g per pole. Kaviso describes it as collapsing smaller but gives no exact size. Official Compact 4 pages are version-sensitive and do not establish which one is this seller SKU.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the Light Blue Compact 4 match an EVA Foam / twist-lock / telescoping choice with 130 cm reach?

Kaviso's exact selector labels this Compact 4 EVA Foam and its Compact 4 specification lists four telescoping sections, the Flexy internal lock and a 130 cm maximum. Fizan's product pages have shown separate Compact 4 articles with 125 or 130 cm maxima; because neither is bridged to this seller variant, verify the exact article before relying on 130 cm as essential.

Does the seller establish an exact packed length for its Compact 4 Light Blue option?

No exact collapsed length is confirmed for this U.S. seller variant. Kaviso says the Compact 4 collapses smaller and a separate Fizan page lists 51 cm closed, but the exact article crosswalk is unresolved; the matcher does not credit any numerical pack limit.

Are snow baskets included with the Compact 4 EVA Foam option?

The listing names supplied 35 mm and 50 mm hiking baskets and lists larger Alpine and Powder Pro baskets separately. It does not confirm included snow baskets, and the basket-set count conflicts across page sections.

How is this four-section model different from the Compact 3 EVA Foam?

The seller lists four sections and 169 g per pole for Compact 4, versus three sections and 158 g per pole for Compact 3; it also lists 130 cm instead of 132 cm maximum. The Compact 4's exact maker article and packed length remain unknown.

Evidence-based assessment; not a hands-on test. Kaviso's U.S. product page groups Fizan's Compact 3 and Compact 4 behind a Style selector. This review covers the standard selector labelled Compact 4 / Light Blue / EVA Foam, seller variant ID 46125259227364 and SKU string “Fizan Compact 4T (LBlue),” plus the distinct PCT Edition's Compact 4 / EVA Foam selector identified below. It is not the three-section Compact 3 foam configuration or any Cork-labelled Compact 4 option. No exact Fizan manufacturer article is established for these U.S. seller variants.

Four telescoping sections, with an important version check

Kaviso's model-option block describes the Compact 4 as a four-section, 7001-aluminum telescoping pole with a 130 cm maximum and a listed weight of 6 oz (169 g) per pole. The page calls the 51–130 cm range “adjustable,” but its low end is not clearly separated from a closed-length dimension, so this assessment does not claim 51 cm as a minimum working setting or as a confirmed packed size. A 130 cm setting is the retailer's stated upper limit, not a universal body-height recommendation.

There is a genuine version bridge to check. A Fizan product-page capture previously titled “COMPACT TECH 4 light blue,” Article 100-477, also described 130 cm maximum and 51 cm closed. The same official URL now presents a different displayed “COMPACT 4 water green,” Article 100-011, with 125 cm maximum and 51 cm closed. Neither article number is linked to Kaviso variant 46125259227364. Those values should not be blended: this review records 130 cm as Kaviso's claim for its exact seller option, but anyone who needs a verified 130 cm setting should confirm the article on the actual pole or package before purchase. The official maker history and color labels are not a substitute for a variant-level crosswalk.

The page also says Compact 4 collapses smaller than Compact 3, but gives no precise U.S.-variant dimension in the relevant specification. Its 51 cm lower figure cannot fill that gap. Do not use the model name, section count or an adjacent maker-page dimension as proof that this pole clears a particular backpack opening.

What the EVA Foam selector means

The selected seller option is explicitly labelled EVA Foam. That supports an EVA Foam preference in the finder, but it says nothing about how the grip will feel in a particular hand, how it performs when wet, or whether it suits gloves. Those are personal and use-dependent questions that cannot be resolved from the listing or product photograph. This review has no comfort test.

The adjacent Compact 4 Beige option is labelled EVA Cork and is assessed separately. The seller uses different variant IDs and names for those handles, and the U.S. SKU string “Black” attached to the Beige EVA Cork selector is a mismatch worth checking. Do not substitute that option when ordering this Light Blue EVA Foam variant. Likewise, the related Fizan pages for other Compact 4 articles describe an EVA grip or cork-like EVA, but do not establish a match to this seller SKU.

The package is described as hiking equipment

Kaviso's Included list states a pair of poles, paired straps and tip covers, and it names 35 mm and 50 mm removable hiking baskets. The seller lists larger 95 mm Alpine and 120 mm Powder Pro baskets separately; the reviewed package therefore does not meet a requirement for snow baskets supplied with the poles. Page sections also disagree about whether two or three hiking-basket sets are included. Confirm the kit if that count is important, rather than relying on a photograph.

The listing's rubber tip covers are not evidence of an integrated shock absorber. No integrated shock mechanism is documented for this exact retail option, so an essential shock-system requirement is not credited. The baskets and tips are accessory details, not a safety rating or proof of performance in snow.

Compared with Compact 3

The same seller's Compact 3 specification is three sections, 158 g per pole and a 132 cm maximum; the Compact 4 is four sections, 169 g per pole and a 130 cm seller-listed maximum. Those are meaningful differences for someone weighing listed mass against the retailer's described smaller collapse, but they do not tell you how joints behave, whether either model is more durable, or how much room the exact pole takes in a pack. Compact 3 EVA Foam, Compact 3 EVA Cork and Compact 4 EVA Cork each have their own review because grip labels and section design alter what the buyer selects.

This Light Blue version makes sense on paper only if the seller's exact variant is the one you want and its published maximum meets your independently chosen setting. A hard 130 cm requirement deserves extra verification because the manufacturer pages do not provide a stable, SKU-matched answer across the observed versions. If 125 cm is enough, compare the exact version and instructions rather than assuming the “Compact 4” name identifies one universal configuration.

Before choosing this option

  • Confirm Compact 4 / Light Blue / EVA Foam and the seller's variant ID or exact item label; do not substitute the EVA Cork option.
  • Ask which Fizan article/version is supplied if 130 cm reach or the exact packed dimension is essential.
  • Do not treat the listing's lower range number as a verified working minimum or packed length.
  • Confirm basket and tip contents. The stated 35 mm and 50 mm items are hiking baskets, not the separately listed snow-oriented sizes.
  • Use the supplied setup instructions and inspect the Flexy internal joints as directed. No ownership, hands-on use, testing, performance measurement, comfort or stock statement is claimed.

The PCT Edition has a separate Compact 4 / EVA Foam option, not a variant of the standard Light Blue item assessed here. Its exact selector, 125 cm seller-listed maximum and unknown locking mechanism are covered in the PCT Compact 4 / EVA Foam review; the saved CDT product page documents no Compact 4 foam selector.
